September 21 - 26
Time will be spent in the field on daily shooting adventures. Our inspiration will also be sparked by discussions, slide shows, books, poems, meditation and critiques. Participants must have a working knowledge of their camera; yet the creative process of image making is more the emphasis than the mechanics of camera use. This workshop best suits those looking to expand their creativity and vision rather than to learn rules or tricks. Doug Beasley’s ongoing body of work, “Sacred Places”, explores what is considered sacred and spiritual in other cultures as well as our own. Past work includes “Sacred Sites of the Lakota”, the Mayans of Guatemala and shamanism in Peru. Doug’s work is exhibited internationally. His book, Japan: A Nisei’s First Encounter offers insight into Doug’s journey to his mother’s homeland. Founder and director of Vision Quest Photo Workshops, he emphasizes vision and personal expression. INFO: Doug Beasley 651.644.1400 or doug@douglasbeasley.com or www.douglasbeasley.com
