The Divine Earth: A Nature Writing Workshop
Amy Minato

From Rumi to Whitman we belong to a human heritage that discovers the sacred in nature. We experience ecstasy, epiphany and solace amid flora and fauna, sky and soil. Be in a place that inspires spirit and practice translating such “inexpressible” moments into words. Listen to nature writers sing the earth’s praise. We will weave being outdoors with readings, discussions and writing in a joyful, relaxed atmosphere. All writing levels welcome!

Amy Minato is author of The Wider Lens published in 2004 by Ice River Press and a creative nonfiction book, Siesta Lane, by Skyhorse Press. Her poetry has been published in national and regional magazines. She holds both an MFA in Creative Writing and an MS in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon. Her poetry has been recognized with a 2004 Oregon Literary Arts Fellowship and her prose with a Walden Fellowship. She currently teaches writing workshops in the Portland area, but she thinks of the Wallowa Mountains as her home and the Oregon landscape as her muse.
