Journey from Abandonment to Healing
Susan Anderson

Abandonment is the primal human fear and the main underlying issue of most emotional distress and dysfunction. Susan Anderson is the founder of the “Abandonment Recovery” movement and has studied this field for over 26 years. In this class she will share with us a highly effective program of emotional and spiritual healing that gives us the means to reverse the universal wound of abandonment. We will learn specific exercises for each of the 5 stages of abandonment (shattering, withdrawal, internalizing, rage and lifting); how to overcome self-sabotage and “abandoholism”; how to make new connections; and twelve steps of healing from abandonment. Whether you’re experiencing a recent breakup or a lingering wound from the past, this class can help you begin to restore your sense of self and increase your capacity for love.

Susan Anderson is a psychotherapist who has 26 years of groundbreaking research, scholarship and clinical experience working with victims of abandonment trauma, is the founder of the “Abandonment Recovery” movement, leads support groups in Manhattan and Long Island, and is the author of Journey from Abandonment to Healing, Black Swan and Journey from Heartbreak to Connection.
