How to Sing in the Shower
Cathleen Wilder
Recreational singing is a joy most cultures take for granted but which many of us have been denied from an early age. Come join us in reclaiming that joy! How to Sing in the Shower is delightful, fun, safe and transformative. Together we’ll examine the myth of “tone deafness”; explore the positive role of singing in our everyday lives; explore the role of energy, movement and breath in freeing our voices; learn practical exercises to develop vocal control and improve your ear; sing songs together and (optional) perform them for each other; get silly, dance around, make weird faces and break taboos. Participants will be provided resources for further study and are welcome to record the exercises.
Let’s create community and support each other in reclaiming of our birthright to sing.
“Knowledgeable, focused, open, supportive, present, charismatic: in short, a dynamite teacher. Bravo!” K. Levine
