Sacred Doula Training

Throughout history, women have supported other women during birth. The modern version of this age-old tradition is the doula—a knowledgeable companion who provides emotional and physical support for pregnant women and families. Whether you plan to work professionally as a doula, want to support a friend in labor, or simply desire to connect with the power, magic and mystery of birth, this workshop is an extraordinary journey exploring the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of womanhood, pregnancy and birth. Group dialog, experiential learning, movement, demonstration, art and ritual combine to create a revolutionary experience.

Carrie Kenner has been helping people have babies since 1980. She owns Big Belly Services in Seattle, providing birth education and doula services. Carrie is a DONA-approved Birth Doula Trainer, certified Birthing From Within mentor, and trains doulas around the country.

Erin Quies, fascinated by birth and the sacred feminine since childhood, facilitates sacred circles, rites of passages and healing through movement. Erin is a massage therapist, provides birth and postpartum doula services, and ceremonies to honor babies, mothers and families.
